Explain, with specific examples from the novel, How the writerââ¬â¢s :: Free Essay Writer
Explain, with specific examples from the novel, How the writerââ¬â¢s descriptions of location and setting reflect the changes inJane Eyreââ¬â¢s character. In this essay I will explain how Charlotte Bronte manages to change the mood and feelings in Jane Eyreââ¬â¢s character by the description of the location and setting. Throughout Jane Eyre, as Jane herself moves from one physical location to another, the settings in which she finds herself vary considerably. Bronte makes the most of this by carefully arranging those settings, to match the differing circumstances Jane finds herself in at each. In this novel, Charlotte Bronte uses violence throughout the book to keep the reader interested and also at the same time it creates a good springboard for emotional and dramatical scenes. This is a great way for Bronte, to express the different changes in Jane Eyreââ¬â¢s mood and feelings. The first occurrence of this is when Jane physically quarrels with her cousin John. This leads to Jane being locked up in the Red Room in which her uncle died. This represents violence because of the physical fighting and that the room is also red, which some people think represents violence. Also, in the book Charlotte Bronte uses the technique of pathetic fallacy to represent Janeââ¬â¢s moods e.g. ââ¬Ëthe cold winter wind had brought with itââ¬â¢s clouds so sombre, a rain so penetrating, that further outdoor exercise was now out of the questionââ¬â¢ (chapter 1, Page 9). This is a description of the weather at Gateshead, showing that Janeââ¬â¢s inner mood is blank and miserable. She feels unsure about her future, by not having a bare insight into her life. As a young girl, Jane Eyre feels trapped at Gateshead, as if it is her whole world. In the first chapter, Charlotte Bronte makes a very good attempt at describing Janeââ¬â¢s fear of John Reed, ââ¬ËHe bullied and punished me; not two or three times in the week, but continually: every nerve I had feared him, and every morsel of flesh on my bones shrank when he came nearââ¬â¢ (Chapter 1, Page 12). This is a description of Janeââ¬â¢s fear that she has of John. This shows that Jane could not be very happy and would be frightened most of the time because of the bullying and punishing John gave to her continually. Also in the first chapter, Jane is excluded to the breakfast room and she went behind a closed curtain reading quietly which was very enjoying for her, ââ¬ËI was then happy: happy at least in my wayââ¬â¢. This shows Janeââ¬â¢s happiness when she is reading a book, In my own opinion I think Jane gets happy because

Do the Right Thing: Independent Cinema Essay
ââ¬Å"Do the Right Thingâ⬠(1989) is a drama-comedy film crafted by writer-director producer star Spike Lee which delved into issues dealing with Brooklyn existence, racism and bigotry which exist in areas found in metropolitan New York. Tolerance is normally maintained but feelings are always threatening to spill out the key point of Leeââ¬â¢s film. Most of the actions take place in Salââ¬â¢s Pizzeria, a 25 year-old Italian-American establishment in the African-American community (Do the Right Thing; 1989). Sal has two sons, Pino and Vito who were all working with delivery person Mookie. In one of the scenes, Mookie was talking to one of his African-American friend in the pizzeria when the issue of ââ¬Å"blacknessâ⬠was again brought up. His friend asked Mookie who is his favorite basketball player, actor and musician. Mookie replied: ââ¬Å"Magic Johnson, Eddie Murphy and Princeâ⬠who apparently are all African-Americans by descent (Do the Right Thing; 1989). His friend had humorously assumed that Mookie might have preferred to be ââ¬Å"blackâ⬠in a sense. Mookie responded that the three are not just ââ¬Å"blacksâ⬠; they are the ââ¬Å"higher blacksâ⬠. His friend, who is an African American, was shocked with how Mookie regarded his favorite personalities; they do not belong to the ââ¬Å"ordinary blacksâ⬠to whom the issue of racism is often addressed; however, Mookieââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"categorizationâ⬠of blacks can still be considered as being racist and still not a way to move out from the issue of racism (although Mookie had attempted to ease the degree of ââ¬Å"insultâ⬠by bringing up the status of ââ¬Å"someâ⬠blacks into a higher level). The stimulating theory of ââ¬Å"double consciousnessâ⬠explores the possibility of how black political culture may change as it moved out of the early phases which attempted to escape from the notion of slavery towards the acquisition of meaningful citizenship in post-emancipated societies (Gilroy, Paul; 1993). The categorization of Magic Johnson, Eddie Murphy and Prince as ââ¬Å"higher blacksâ⬠is an evident response that the public (regardless of descent) is attempting to put a higher regard of what have been considered by history as ââ¬Å"bearers of the lower statusâ⬠.

Semantic and phonetic interference in memory recall
Additionally, a significant difference was visible between all three conditions, with the semantic and honesty conditions scoring a lower recall level in comparison to the controlled condition. Introduction The active difference between short-term memory and long-term memory is anything but exact. Although, there is an understanding that long-term memory is being examined when a list is displayed several occasions over an interval of time calculated in minutes and recalling is measured after minutes, hours and days, and short-term memory is being examined when a list is displayed once and at a rate of fewer than 30 seconds.Within cognition a key question is whether information is forgotten due to a function of time. A strong amount of research proposes that information is not forgotten due to time, but as a result of interference (see, e. G. , Lavabo, Annoys, & Masters, 2002; Neat & Surprising, 2003; Bureau & Kiel, 2006). However, many academics have thought that unrehearsed informat ion is forgotten over several seconds (e. G. , Biddable, 1986; Tows, Hitch, & Hutting, 2000), since supported theories (e. . , Biddable & Scott, 1971; Cowan, Nugent, Elliot, & Greer, 2000; Mueller, Seymour, Sierras, & Meyer, 2003). The matter continues to be uncertain. Our skill to selectively remember earlier information is a vital specs of our long-term memory system. Prior research proposed that in many circumstances individuals have the ability of selectively seeking information in memory, preceding to their subsequent remembrance.Even with research for this skill to selectively seek information from our memory, we still do not have much information on how we actually achieve this complex task. Able and Bump's (2013) research focuses on participants revising items from different categories and then continually recalling specific items from specific categories, recall rehearsal normally increases recall of he rehearsed information although impairs retrieval of associated but unre hearsed information, relative to manage information from unrehearsed categories. The results displayed the belief that memory impairment following extended intervals between practice and test and in the occurrence of retroactive interference. In opposition, both the rehearsed and the related unrehearsed information displayed barely any failure to remember under these conditions. Unshorn, Brewer and Spillers' (2013) conflicting study observed the impact of proactive and retroactive interference on memory Argentina, examining how individuals concentrate their search on a target list when accompanied by proactive or retroactive interference. Results showed that long-term memory targeting is steered by noisy temporal-contextual cues (unless other salient cues are current) that trigger equally relevant and irrelevant memoranda that are then exposed to a post recovery supervising process; these findings challenge the results from Able and Bump's (2013) study. This research among other findi ngs (see, e. G. , Lavabo, Annoys, & Masters, 2002; Neat & Surprising, 2003; Bureau & Kiel, 2006; Unshorn, Brewer & Spillers', 201 3) motives the present study. This research examines not only the question of whether there will be a difference between semantic and phonetic interference during memory recall, but also if the results will show a significant difference between the retroactive interference conditions and the controlled condition. Additionally, this study has also been motivated due to there not being prior research comparing semantic interference and phonetic interference in memory recall. The hypothesis of this study is there will be a significant difference between semantic interference and phonetic interference in memory recall. Methods Design In this experimental study, a between participant design was utilized to examine the difference between the effect of semantic and phonetic words on the memory recall of a list of words. The independent variable was the type of ret roactive words used (semantic and phonetic). The dependent variable was the amount Of items correctly recalled from a list Of 1 5 words. Participants A sample of 30 student volunteers were employed from Nottingham Trend University, ASK. 15 male and 15 Female participants were used, in an age angel of 18-21 years old.The mean age of the participants was 19. 5. Materials The stimuli consisted of a list of fifteen words. All three conditions consisted of the same fifteen words, although condition two consisted of another fifteen semantic words (See Appendix Two) and condition three consisted of another fifteen phonetic words (See Appendix Three). One mark was awarded for each correct memorized word. Procedure All student partakers were separately put in a room where they were requested to complete a consent form prior to partaking in the current study (See Appendix Four). The partakers were presented with presentation slides matching to their condition. Partakers in condition one were e xplained, The next slide will display fifteen words, they will appear for four seconds each, separately. Please memories as many words as you possibly can'. A one minute interval was given then partakers were asked to recall as many words as they could on paper. Partakers in condition two and three were explained, The next slide will display fifteen words, and you will then be shown another 15 words, they will appear for four seconds each, separately. Please only memories words from the first slides shown'. A one minute interval was given then partakers were asked to recall as many words from slide one as they could on paper. Condition two's second set of words were semantic words and condition three's second set of words where phonetic. One mark was given for every correct word recalled. After the task was finished, partakers were asked if they had any questions before being debriefed about the study. Rest Its Table 1 shows the mean number of words correctly recalled, standard devia tion and range for each condition. The findings show that those in indention two (semantic) and condition three (phonetic) recalled less words than in the controlled condition. Additionally, there was a significant difference from those in condition two (semantic) and condition three (phonetic). Therefore, it is clear that retroactive interference had an impact on number of target items being correctly recalled. Table 1 : Descriptive Statistics for scores on the number of words correctly recalled in each condition. Mean SD Ra Eng Condition 1 10. 60 1 . 34 10 Condition 2 Condition 3 9. 20 7. 10 1 . 03 1 . 6 A one-way NOVA was carried out to compare condition one; a list of 15 rods (mean = 10. 60, standard deviation = 1. 34), condition two; semantic words, (mean = 9. 20, standard deviation = 1. 03), and condition three; phonetic words, (mean = 7. 10, standard deviation = 1. 86) on the number of words that were correctly recalled. The results showed there was a significant difference be tween the groups, F(2, 27) = 21. 54, p = 0. 001 Post hoc analysis, using Bonfire corrected appraise comparisons, found that all three conditions had a significant difference in comparison to each condition.Discussion The results from the descriptive statistics (see table 1) were fairly draughtswoman, representing a distinct interference in relations of both semantic and phonetic interference. Particularly, in comparison to the controlled condition, condition two and three were associated with lower recall levels, suggesting that the presence of a non-target list presented after the target list interfered with the recall of target items. Additionally, as put forward by Shuffling (Bibb), retroactive interference effects were of a comparable scale across the measures of importance. These findings are consistent with the previously stated hypothesis drawn upon in the introduction that there will be a difference between the semantic and phonetic interference on memory recall. Supporting r esearch (Unshorn, Brewer and Spillers, 201 3) suggests that participants can usually mentally recall the information from the target list, however due to a certain amount of doubt regarding which items were really shown in the target list in relation to the interference list, participants create a wider selection to make sure that the target items will be incorporated in the search set. Therefore, likelihood of accurate recall is lowered when recollecting from the target list (controlled indention) due to non-target list items are added in to search set. Also, this interpretation calculates that the search set will be placed on the target list, although items shown in close time-based proximity to the target list will likewise be added in the search set. Overall, this concept is very much consistent with our findings.Future research is required to grasp an improved understanding with regards to the conditions wherein the search set can and cannot be focused on only target items, the procedures that are employed in order to recall context for events while trying to avoid only pending solely on the present context, and how partakers utilizes context to observe the results of retrieval and how this affects managing decisions during recall.

History of the Old Testament Essay
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken. I. Historical context of Isaiah 7:14-16 The historical setting is critical to the account since the prophet supplies it and the oracle draws on its timing. With a close study of the events referred to we may date the oracle in this chapter to 734 B. C. (Ross,Allen) It was when the ruthless Assyrian conqueror, on the throne is Tiglathpileser III, a ruthless and powerful king was terrorizing the all other nations, and Judah, unwilling to join in a coalition against him, was attacked by Israel and Syria, the ancient Aramaea , with its main city in Damascus, and Ephraim, the northern Israelite state, with its main city Samaria and therefore, King Ahaz when he heard of this coalition was thinking seriously of inviting Assyrian help(Tiglathpileser III). It must be pointed out that the whole purpose was to dissuade King Ahaz from embarking a wrong course of action, namely, that of relying upon Assyria rather than upon the Lord. In the name of Jehovah, it was this moment the prophet commences with a historical announcement. Isaiah 7:1 says It came to pass, in the days of Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aramaea, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, and could not make war against it. The Syrian king Rezin had come up against Jerusalem and with him was Pekah of Israel. Their purpose was to wage war, but unable to besiege it the prophecy of the chapter is amazingly accurate. The sign that a boy was about to be born is the pivotal point. Before he would be old enough to tell right from wrong, that is, about 12 years old, the enemies would not only be defeated but cease to exist. According to history, Shalmaneser V (the successor to Tiglathpileser) campaigned against the land and besieged Samaria. He died in the duration and was succeeded by Sargon II who completed the destruction of the northern state in 722 or 721 B. C. So the oracle in Isaiah 7 could be dated about twelve years before that destruction in 722 B. (Ross, Allen ) II. Literary Context of Isaiah 7:14-16 Therefore the Lord Himself give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. The word therefore signifies that something had taken place before the incident forwarded here in verse 14, and inasmuch as the wicked king in hypocritical fashion rejects the opportunity of asking for a sign, then he lost the privilege of asking a sign in his own favor. Instead the Lord Himself will give a sign, and this one of His own choosing, announcing the birth of a wondrous Child as the sign of deliverance, and making the infancy of that Child the measure of the time that Judah is yet to suffer affliction, before the time of deliverance will come. Yet as we have seen because of Ahazââ¬â¢ unbelief after the comfortable promises made to him as a branch of the house of David, what took place was a terrible threatening against him, as a degenerate branch of that house; for though the God was patience and His loving kindness shall not be utterly taken away, for the sake of David and the covenant made with, yet his inequity shall be dealt with the rod, and his sin with stripes. In fulfillment of the prophecy, the Egyptians and the Assyrians filled the land in their war with each other. Devastation from this war severely tested the people, so that nothing grew in the fields, and the survivors had to rely on curds and honey. This led up to and included the invasion of 701 B. C. under Sennacherib, the next Assyrian king, when Hezekiah was on the throne in Jerusalem, and 200,000 people from Judah were carried off into captivity. As we shall see, the details of the Assyrian crisis are very accurately prophesied in these oracles (Ross, Allen_______& Young, E. J. 1993). III. Commentary on Isaiah 7:14-16 Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Since the King did not ask for a sign that the land shall be delivered from the enemies, Yahweh will furnish one unasked. Yahweh will not withhold it because a proud and contemptuous King refuses to seek it. The LORD himself, He will do it and not hindered though it is rejected and despised; he will do it because of its necessity ââ¬â for the welfare of the nation, and for the confirmation of his religion, to furnish a demonstration to the people that he is the only true God. It is clearly implied here, that the emphasis is that the sign should be such as Yahweh alone could give. If this refers to the birth of a child, then it means that this was an event which could be known only to God, and which could be accomplished only by his agency. If it refers to the miraculous conception and birth of the Messiah, then it means that that was an event which none but God could accomplish. Shall give you, primarily refers to the house of David; the king and royal family of Judah. It was especially designed to assure the government that the kingdom would be safe. Doubtless, however, the word ââ¬Ëyouââ¬â¢ is designed to include the nation, or the people of the kingdom of Judah. It would be so public a sign, and so clear a demonstration, as to convince them that their city and land must be ultimately safe. A sign, a pledge; a token; an evidence of the fulfillment of what is predicted. The word does not, of necessity, denote a miracle, though it is often so applied; see the notes at Isaiah 7:11. But rather it means a proof, a demonstration, a certain indication that what he had said should come to its fulfillment. Behold this interjection serves to designate persons and things; places and actions. It is used in lively descriptions, and animated discourse; or when anything unusual was said, or occurred; it means, that an event was to occur which demanded the attention of the unbelieving King, and the regard of the people-an event which would be a full demonstration of what the prophet had said. A virgin, it is used in its obvious natural sense, to denote a young, unmarried female. The derivatives are applied to youth; to young men; to young women-to those who ââ¬Å"are growing up,â⬠and becoming youths. This virgin as used in his word properly means a girl, maiden, virgin, a young woman who is unmarried, and who is of marriageable age. And shall call his name, it was usual for ââ¬Å"mothersâ⬠to give names to their children. The idea is, it is the ââ¬Å"appropriateâ⬠name that would be given to the child. Although another name was also given to this child, expressing substantially the same thing, with a circumstantial difference. Immanuel a Hebrew name which means ââ¬ËGod with usââ¬â¢ ââ¬â the name is designed to denote that God would be with the nation as its protector, and the birth of this child would be a sign or pledge of it. The name, Immanuel, denotes nothing more than divine aid and protection. Others have supposed, however, that the name must denote the assumption of our nature by God in the person of the Messiah, that is, that God became man. The true interpretation is, that no argument to prove that can be derived from the use of the name; but when the fact of the incarnation has been demonstrated from other sources, the ââ¬Å"name is appropriately expressive of that event. ( Barnes, 1997). Isaiah 7:15 He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. (NASV) Young( ), showed that the infancy of the promised Messiah is made the measure of the time that Judah will be in danger from her two enemies. This thought namely, namely the duration of a period of difficulty, is expressed symbolically in that Immanuel iws pictured as subsisting during His infancy on curds and honey, which was symbolical royal diet. From the time of His birth, supposedly, the Child will eat this peculiar food, and at the time when He can discern between good and evil, rejecting the one and choosing the other, He will be eating these things. At an early age a child learns to reject evil and to choose good, or at least to distinguish between the two. Thus, by means of this measure, we learn that the affliction or desolation of the two enemy kings is short-lived, possibly only two or three years. The reference may be to what is injurious or useful in life but in the light of the usage of this phrase in Genesis 2, it clearly refers also to what is morally good and evil. Isaiah 7:16 For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken. (NASV) The land that you dread, the land concerning which thou art so much ââ¬Å"alarmed or distressed;â⬠that is, the united land of Syria and Ephraim. Refers to one land, because they were united then in a firm alliance, so as to constitute, in fact, or for the purposes of invasion and conquest, one people or nation. The phrase, ââ¬Ëwhich you dread,ââ¬â¢ means properly, which thou loathes, the primary idea of the word ââ¬â being to feel a nausea, or to throw up. It then means to fear, or to feel alarm; and this, probably, is the meaning here. Ahaz, however, evidently looked upon the nations of Syria and Samaria with disgust, as well as with alarm. The meaning of the ââ¬Å"landâ⬠is that the kings themselves were the objects of dislike or dread; and not merely that the two kings should be removed, but that the land itself was threatened with desolation. This construction is an exegetical kind which agrees with the idiom of the Hebrew. (Barnes, 1993) IV Summary of Isaiah 7:14-16 As a summary of these three verses it was shown that in verse 14 Isaiah made a proclamation that the Lord will give a sign. This seeing of the virgin is not with with the physical eyes, Isaiah have not seen the Messiah in His physical birth, but in vision. In vision, then, the prophet beholds the virgin with child. An in the birth of this son, the presence of God is manifest in a most unique way. The fourteenth verse constitutes a sure and a definite fulfillment of the prophecy of the birth of Immanuel. With verse 15 the prophet proceeds to show that the infancy of the Messiah a symbolical representation of the fact that the threat which overhung Judah would be short-lived. This he does by picturing the child in vision eating royal food (according to commentator Young ââ¬â which I prefer to use in this summary). The child will eat this food, symbol of threat and desolation; yet before He reaches the age where He knows the difference between good and evil, the two kings which Ahaz dreads will forsake the land of Israel, and there will be nothing more for him to fear from them. The prophetical naming of this child having thus had its accomplishment, no doubt this, which was further added concerning him, should have its accomplishment likewise, that Syria and Israel should be deprived of both their kings. One mercy from God encourages us to hope for another, if it engages us to prepare for another. BIBLIOGRAPHY Barnesââ¬â¢ Notes, Barnes and Nobles Commentary. Electronic Database. Pre-Interview Essay
Pre-interview Essay 30/01/2013 I would like to follow the CELTA course for quite a few reasons. To begin with, and more importantly, I want to do the course so as to obtain the right qualifications for and English tutor. I think that the CELTA course can provide me, not only with the necessary teaching skills, but also with the highest knowledge of the subject. Moreover, if one already has the education and skills needed this course gives him the opportunity to keep up to date with the English language, because as it is widely known language, in general, keeps evolving and changing. Another important reason that makes me want to follow the course is the fact that CELTA diploma is recognized thru out the world. That is a great advantage as one has the opportunity to work at almost any country he desires.Needless to say that this is of great benefit not only to oneââ¬â¢s teaching experience but to him as a person, as he will be able to broaden his horizons by meeting new educational systems and cultures. I believe that I would be a successful teacher of the English language because I am very interested in it, therefore, I would constantly try to enrich my knowledge around it and do my best to be up to date, not only with the language itself but with educational systems so that my students would get the best education possible from me.I am of the opinion that you must love what you do so as to be good at it and teaching is what I love. Other than that, I feel that I am the kind of person that can pass his knowledge to the others. I am friendly and easy-going which makes people around me feel comfortable and able to trust me. On the other hand, I am very organized and focused on my goals, even a little bit of a control freak which I believe make me better at what I do and are some important qualities for a successful teacher.

Basketball Match That Crazes You And Others English Literature Essay
Basketball Match That Crazes You And Others English Literature Essay Growing up in New York City is never complete without a touch of basketball which is one of the most famous sports in that community. Kids from all over the neighborhood would gather up at the upper east park. We would all stand there and pick the two most controversial teams in the NBA and play with their names. The joy of a basketball match for a player is to win as it is for the supporters, and to do so convincingly. Imagine entering in to the match as underdogs and coming out as the victors. My mind goes crazy when the fans go on chanting slogans in praise of a team that is performing extra ordinarily. A great feeling of self esteem and feeling like jumping out of my skin accompany the continuous overwhelming celebrations. To best illustrate the feelings of going crazy, I am compelled to describe one of my most exciting experience. There are no feelings of such high spirit as described in an indeed crazy match I participated in. Basketball has always been one of Americas exiting sport. It is a sport that not only provided thrilling excitement, but also true team spirit full of satisfaction. In addition, the motivation which superstar basketball players gave us when making the high basket of 7 to 8 feet high was so immense. This sport has shown me how important it is to keep doing what I love. Throughout junior and high school I played for my school. My high school matches were so memorable to me because I enjoyed them to the fullest. I was just so crazy to know how much power and energy a simple guy like me could get, in one small gym court. Just the thought of it made me crazy. In the locker room I heard the murmuring of the guys talking about their day and the rustling of them getting their jerseys and shoes on. Coach walked in, the room silenced. He gave his preamble speech, his voice echoing off the lockers, everyone listening to him as if he was public speaker. The speech of the coach was full of energy and it made all players more energetic as well a s it made me crazy and excited to play the game in more aggressive manner compared to opposing team for the purpose to win with flying colors. I was feeling more energetic and trying to relax from all personal worries and issues of daily life. The purpose would be to concentrate on the game and play it with absolute focus. Most of the audiences of this basketball match were becoming crazy to watch the exiting game, as well as me. It is very essential in the basketball to co-ordinate in effective and efficient manner. Therefore after the coachââ¬â¢s speech we all spend a few minutes to make some strategies in our minds individually. When we all young boys had made their personal strategies basketball team huddle, we talk game strategy and whoââ¬â¢s going to have a big game. Outside the locker room we could hear the crowd roaring ââ¬Å"letââ¬â¢s go, letââ¬â¢s go tigers!â⬠that made all of us and the audience go crazy with excitement.

Assignment Example Elisa Allen is the girl upon which the story unveils upon. She is an awesome gardener and the wife to the rancher. However, we learn that she doesnââ¬â¢t enjoy her day-to-day life as a gardener. This is exemplified when tinker approached her. This made her life to significantly change. The change may be forever. The author has used her to play a role in showing difference between the modern woman and the repressed woman. The other character is one that we can actually have little sorry for. Henry Allen is the husband to Elisa. He is a well-meaning rancher who is down righted and bewildered by her wife Elisa. The ââ¬Ëintrigueââ¬â¢ is our third character who is referred by many as the tinker. Throughout the story, we do not actually know the real name of this character. The story is developed in the third person point of view. In the fourth paragraph, the camera obsessively zooms on Elisa. We are veered into a different place where we assume that we are now dealing with the narrator whoa at time establishes in Elisaââ¬â¢s minds. The point of view helps us to get the tone. Tone can be described as snob and callous. The story starts with us been introduced to protagonist, Elisa. She is depicted as the beauty that survives in the blooms. The conflict is as well entailed in the story, and complication. Elisa speaks to the stranger and gives him chrysanthemums. The story relies on the theme of love and betrayal. The women role in the gardens as well as the responsibilities they are
